Connecting A Cash Drawer To Your POS System: Most cash drawers today are designed to connect to your POS system through the receipt printer, via a connection that looks like a specially configured telephone jack. Every receipt printer we sell has this special cash drawer interface port. The idea is that when the printer prints a receipt it will also send a signal to open the cash drawer. Where applications do not call for printing a receipt with every sales transaction (as in a variety store, for example), the typical solution today is a manual cash drawer. For special apllications we still stock older-style serial, USB and even parallel interface cash drawers that are designed to connect directly to your computer.
